Miss Edna Clingenpeel, aged 17, met her death, and Mrs. Olive Clingenpeel, her mother, and Mrs. Rosa Clingenpeel, her sister-in-law, were injured, the former suffering a twisted wrist and a severe shock and the latter having her left leg broken. The dead girl and her mother lived at Danbury and Mrs. Rosa Clingenpeel at Mapleton. On the way west the Clingenpeels stopped in Sioux City to visit at the home of Peter Moor,* Morningside. They left Omaha Monday evening. The wreck occurred at 3:15 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, the westbound Oregon express striking a broken rail near Dana, which is thirty miles west of Rawlins and 150 miles west of Cheyenne. Five coaches were thrown into the ditch. Thirty people were injured. The victims were taken to Cheyenne. The Clingenpeels belonged to an old Woodbury county family. Mrs. Olive Clingenpeel is the widow of James Clingenpeel, who died about ten years ago. The family home is about two miles south of Danbury. Lester Clingenpeel, a son, and a nephew from Mapleton, already are on a ranch between Nampa and Caldwell in Idaho. Arthur Clingenpeel, another son, and husband of Mrs. Rosa Clingenpeel, left home a week ago with a car of household goods. The three women were on their way to Caldwell to take up their residence on the ranch.
