The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 14 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Marysville. Rev. Philip Miller will officiate. The pallbearers will be Frank Berg, Doug Plegge, Joe Parthemer, Chet Fincham, Jr., Levon Colvin and Brian Smith. Burial will be in the Marysville City Cemetery. Edna was born August 28, 1921 near Blaine, Kan., daughter of Charles and Pauline (Berg) Fischer [sic]. She attended the Berg School. She was a farm wife and mother. On October 14, 1953, she married Alvin Christener at Wheaton, Kan. They had one son, Robert. Together they lived on the family farm near Frankfort. Edna was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Marysville and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking rolls and pies for others. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin on January 19, 2014; and three brothers, Walter "Julius", Argyle and Herbert Berg. Survivors include her son, Robert (Janet) Christener, Frankfort; three grandchildren, Donnie (Casey) Christener, Chicago, Ill., Mike (Alissa) Christener, Frankfort, and Melissa (Randy) Huninghake, Frankfort; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel. Possible brother Herbert It appears the mother's date of death is incorrect since no 2nd marriage is mentioned. Edna's maiden name changed to match parents' surname rather than using the obituary maiden name of Fischer.
