Her funeral was held Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Zion Lutheran Church, Aberdeen, with the Rev. Dennis Hansen officiating. Burial followed at the Groton Union Cemetery. Miller-Huebl Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Edna Rose Roettele was born May 11, 1904 at Groton, to Paul and Martha (Grull Staudacker) Roettele. She attended school at Groton. She married Jake Knoll on June 3, 1921 at Groton. They farmed in the Groton area. They purchased a farm between Warner and Stratford in 1936. They moved to Aberdeen in 1948 where she worked for the Dakota Farmer Mailing Department for many years. Jake died October 29, 1953. She married Carl Hanson March 7,1957 at Aberdeen. Carl died March 21, 1971. Edna has continued to live in Aberdeen until her death. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She joined the Women of the Moose #178 in 1949 where she held many offices including in 1963 at the Dakota Conference at Mandan, N.D., she was named Queen of Sponsors for North Dakota and South Dakota for signing up the most members within the Aberdeen Chapter; in 1965 she was installed as Senior Regents at the International Conference held in Los Angeles; in 1966 at the Dakota Conference in Fargo, she was named Queen of Sponsors for North Dakota and South Dakota for signing up the most members within the Aberdeen Chapter; in 1968 she received the Honor of College of Regents in the House of God at Mooseheart, Ill.; in 1982 she was named nominee of Honorary Paul P. Schmitz Outstanding Services to the Women of the Moose, she received her 45 year pin and received a pin for sponsoring 100 new members. She was also a member of the V.F.W., Ladies Auxiliary, Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, and the Women's Relief Corps. She also enjoyed playing cards and crocheting. Survivors include one son, Darrell (Doris) Knoll, Renton, Wash.; two daughters, Alvina Bartels, Mina, and Joyce (James) DesCamps, Aberdeen; 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, one daughter, three brothers, and four sisters. Honorary casketbearers were the Colledge of Regens and all of her friends. Active casketbearers were Harold Brick, Bill Berger, Edgar Wipf, Curtis Misslitz, Colin Christian, and Lawrence Kaven. Ushers were Julius Schock and George Nelson. Sonya Kempf was the organist and Donna Misslitz was the soloist.
