Edna Ruth Peterson was born February 17, 1918 in Wessington, SD to Guy and Ada (Sass) Stobbs. She graduated from Wessington High School in 1935. Read More	Edna Ruth (Stobbs) Peterson February 17, 1918 - December 21, 2011 Edna Peterson, age 93, of Huron, formerly of Wessington, SD died Wednesday, December 22, 2011 at SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron. Edna Ruth Peterson was born February 17, 1918 in Wessington, SD to Guy and Ada (Sass) Stobbs. She graduated from Wessington High School in 1935. Edna married Alfred Peterson on May 24, 1942 in at her parent's farm in Wessington, SD. The couple lived on a farm near Wessington until 1960 when they moved into to Wessington. Edna worked in the Wessington Schools lunch room and as an assistant at the Wessington Public Library. In the early 1990's, the couple moved to Huron and Edna joined the Huron Regional Medical Centers Pink Lady's, which she greatly enjoyed. Edna was a beloved and missed member of the Wessington Community. She was a member of the R.N.A., Watson-Krauter American Legion Auxiliary Post #110, and a member of both Huron and Wessington's First Presbyterian Church and Presbyterian Women. She enjoyed quilting, baking apple pies and bread for her family, reading, and crossword puzzles. Edna is survived by her children, Ruth (Don)Bennett of Huron, Kenneth (Kathy) Peterson of St. Charles, IA, Carol Peterson of Boulder, CO, Phyllis (Kenneth) Jones of Huron, Maxine Cavenee of Redfield; eight grandchildren, Dennis (Stephanie) Bennett, Dwane (Susan) Peterson, Nathan Peterson, Daniel Peterson, Bryce Peterson, Faye (Jay) Adams, Bethany (Aaron)Lass, Andrea Jones, Matthew (Stephanie) Cavenee; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Blanche McNeil of Huron; many nieces and nephews. Edna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Atch April 10, 2002; son, Bruce in 1991; grandson, Jason Cavenee in 1998; two brothers, John and William; and four sisters, Dollie, Nellie, Evelyn, and baby Violet. Funeral: First Presbyterian Church, Huron, SD January 3, 2012. Burial: Wessington Cemetery. Arrangements: Welter Funeral Home, Huron, SD
