She was born in Horry County, a daughter of the late William Whitman and Anna Elva Howell Shelley. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Aynor. Read More	Edna (Shelley) Fitchett Sun News Myrtle Beach, SC April 13, 1999 LINEVILLE, Ala. _ Edna Shelley Fitchett, 88, died Monday, April 12, 1999, in Lineville after an illness. She was born in Horry County, a daughter of the late William Whitman and Anna Elva Howell Shelley. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Aynor. As a registered nurse, she served in many positions at Conway Hospital, assisted the late Dr. Hal Holmes Sr. in his office, and organized, directed and taught at the first practical nursing school in Conway. An area in the education wing of Conway Hospital was dedicated to her. She retired in 1972. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Jean Fitchett of Spartanburg; a daughter, Shelley Bohn of Spartanburg; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Pete Mayo of Lineville, with whom she had lived since 1987; a sister, Marjorie Dix of Galivants Ferry; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five sisters, Clarice Shelley, Kathleen Macklin, Lena Moore, Leola Hucks and Susie Johnson. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway chapel. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Aynor Cemetery.
