Edna Wilhelmina Augusta (Raabe) Wiechman was born on August 25, 1917 at rural Beemer, NE to Rudolph and Agnes (Fullner) Raabe. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Beemer, NE. Edna attended St. John’s Parochial School. On May 6, 1945, she was united in marriage to Edward Wiechman. The couple lived on a farm east of West Point. After Edward passed away in 1982, Edna purchased a home in West Point and fourteen years later moved into an apartment. In July of this year she became a resident of Colonial Haven/Colonial Courts in Beemer, NE. Edna was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, its Ladies Aid, and LWML. She also belonged to a Friendship Club, the Good Life Club, and enjoyed attending the Sunshine Center in West Point. Edna was also a former 4-H leader. She loved her grandchildren, sewing, doing needlework, quilting, and especially playing BINGO. Edna was an avid baseball fan, especially when the College World Series and World Series were being played, and also enjoyed following the UNL Volleyball team. Survivors include- Daughter-Rachel and George (Skip) Hall of New Carrolton, MD and family-daughter Melissa and Shawn Replogle and children-Nathan & Kristen; daughter Robin and Mark Smith and children-Kelsey & Evan Daughter-Marie Wiechman of Lincoln, NE Daughter-Karen Wiechman of Wheaton, IL Son-in-law- George and Connie Kerr of Commerce City, CO and family-son Brian and Debbie Kerr and children-Evelyn & Cameron; daughter-in-law Erin Kerr and children-Isabelle & Sarah Several nieces and nephews also survive Edna. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-Kathy Kerr, grandson-Mark Kerr, and brothers-Leo, Warren, Vern and Martin Raabe.
