Mr. Robertson was the son of Moses Robertson and an old resident of Cincinnati, having been born and raised at that place. The following obituary appeared in the 14 January 1885 Centerville Citizen: Edward Robertson, son of Moses and Elizabeth Robertson, was born March 8th, 1853, and died November 22, 1884, aged 31 years, 8 months, and 14 days. He had spent his entire life on the farm where he died, having been born there. December 14, 1871, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary J. Patterson, who, having walked the pathway of life with him, not only cheering him in his health, but administering to his wants in his last lingering affliction with such kindness and love as only can be manifested by a devoted com-panion, is now left with three girls and one boy to mourn his death. During his life, he always manifested the strongest ties of friendship, ever being ready to help those who were in need of help. The cloud that overspread the the minds of his friends when the thought of death was presented to them was lifted a few days before his death. After a struggle with his own mind, he was able to accept Christ and indicated this by raising his hands and moving his lips, not being able to utter a word distinctly. This victory continued until death claimed him as his own. His birth, marriage, and death all occurred on the old "Robertson homestead," one mile west of Cincinnati. His aged father, a kind and loving stepmother, six brothers and one sister, a kind com-panion and loving children with a large circle of friends, are left to mourn his death. May we all learn by this call of death to "Watch, therefore, for ye know neither the day or the hour wherein the Son of Man cometh." The funeral services were held Nov. 24th, 1884 by Rev. H. C. Millico at the old homestead, and the remains deposited in the White School House Cemetery. Contributor: Anonymous (49307100)
