Description	:	Edward A. Walz, 406 Frank Ave. S.E., died Sunday at St. John's Regional Medical center at the age of 83. The funeral service is set Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Welter Funeral Home. Walz, 406 Frank Ave. S.E., died Sunday at St. John's Regional Medical center at the age of 83. The funeral service is set Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Welter Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Greg Fenske, Kent Baltzer, Gary, Eugene and Craig Walz and Charles Gascoigne. Edward A. Walz was born Aug. 6, 1890, to Edward P and Amelia Walz in Russia. In 1906 he came to the United States with two brothers, Adolph and Fred and settled in Freeman. He married Katherine Tschetter and to this union two daughters, Mary and Amelia, were born. His wife and daughters died in the flue epidemic in 1918. He moved near Carpenter and was married to Susie Tschetter in 1919. In the 1930's he moved to a farm near Huron and in 1946 he moved to Huron and began employment with the C. and N.W. Railway. His wife Susie died Nov. 19, 1960 . He married Ella (Lemke) Walz, June 22, 1961, and retired March 12, 1963, from the railroad. He was a member of the Huron Mission Church and taught Sunday School of 25 years. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Firemen and Oilers. Survivors are his widow, Ella, Huron; three sons, Clarence, St. Cloud, Minn., Edwin, Fairfax, Min., and Ivan, Huron; four daughters, Mrs. Clealand (Clara) Heisel, Lyons, Ore., Mrs. Eugene (Virginia) Fenske, Woonsocket, Mrs. Oscar (Darleen) Baltzer, Alpena, Mrs. Eugene (Donna) Vandiepens, Sioux Falls; 25 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Luverne and Alvin Walz, Huron; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Wilbur (Mary Jean) Maas, Huron; 11 stepgrandchildren; one brother, John Walz, Yale; two sisters, Mrs. Joe K. (Amelia) Walter, Mrs. Lydia Gross, both of Huron. In addition to his wives and infant children, he was preceded in death by two hildren, three grandchildren, five brothers, Fred, Adolph, Andrew, Chris and Dick and two sisters, Louis E.
