Description	:	Edward Andrew Bergfeld was born February 21, 1941, at Winthrop, Iowa, the son of Andrew and Stacia (Fangman) Bergfeld. Ed attended school at Lamont, Iowa, where he graduated with the Lamont High School class of 1959. He served his country in the Army for two years from 1963 to 1965. Ed was united in marriage to Carolyn Kash December 8, 1967. To this union were born two children, Judd and Lucinda. He was employed in the road construction business for 42 years with Fred Carlson Co. and Knife River Co. at Decorah, Iowa. He enjoyed spending his winters in California... Read More	Edward Andrew Bergfeld was born February 21, 1941, at Winthrop, Iowa, the son of Andrew and Stacia (Fangman) Bergfeld. Ed attended school at Lamont, Iowa, where he graduated with the Lamont High School class of 1959. He served his country in the Army for two years from 1963 to 1965. Ed was united in marriage to Carolyn Kash December 8, 1967. To this union were born two children, Judd and Lucinda. He was employed in the road construction business for 42 years with Fred Carlson Co. and Knife River Co. at Decorah, Iowa. He enjoyed spending his winters in California with his children and grandchildren, cruising in their Corvette, golfing, and bird watching. He was a member of the Loren Foster American Legion Post 346 of Lamont, St. Mary Catholic Church in Lamont, and recently St. Mary Catholic Church in Strawberry Point, Iowa. Ed died at his home June 7, 2008, after a length illness at the age of 67. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and four sisters. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Bergfeld of Lamont; his son, Judd Bergfeld, of Lamont; his daughter, Lucinda (Alan) Fleming, of Laguna Niguel, CA; three grandchildren: Andrew, Alex and Sofia Fleming; his brother, Lloyd Bergfeld, of Lamont; three sisters: Catherine (Cyril) Friedman and Janice Bergfeld, both of Dubuque, Iowa; and Linda (Donald) Sullivan of Winthrop; and many other relatives and friends. Services for Edward A. Bergfeld will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Strawberry Point, with Rev. Paul Peters officiating. Music will be provided by Beth Hamlett. Casketbearers will be: Randy Sullivan, Ronald Rule, David Bergfeld, Rodney Trimble, Kenny Kash, and Jere Kerns. Visitation will be at Fawcett Funeral Home in Lamont from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2008, beginning with a rosary at 4 p.m., and visitation after 10 a.m.Tuesday, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Strawberry Point. Burial will be at St. Albert cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by the Loren Foster American Legion Post 346 of Lamont. ..Arrangements and Obituary: Fawcett Funeral Home in Lamont, Iowa.
