BN, Maryland, WWII Death Notice Frederick Post - November 28, 1962 Edward Arlington Betson, 34, of Dickerson, killed himself Tuesday by placing a hose from the exhaust pipe of his auto through the rear window of his closed car which was parked in front of his home on the Mount Ephraim Road near Dickerson, Montgomery County Police reported. His body was found in the car by his 12-year-old nephew, Harry Betson, III at 4:30 p.m. police said. The body was taken to the Hilton Funeral Home in Barnesville where Betson was pronounced dead of carbon monoxide poisoning by Montgomery County Medical Examiner, Dr. Frank Broschart, who ruled the death a suicide. The Dickerson man had last been seen alive Tuesday morning at the family home near Sugarloaf Mountain where he was temporarily staying with relatives. Death Notice Frederick Post - November 29, 1962 Funeral arrangements were announced yesterday for Edward Arlington Betson, 34, of Dickerson, who was found dead by suicide, according to Montgomery County Police. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth and the following children; Edward Jr., Elizabeth Ann, Ronald and Russell, all of Boyds; his mother, Mrs. Sally Fields Betson, Dickerson, and four brothers, William Betson, Silver Spring; Connie Betson, this city; Harry and Robert Betson, Dickerson and two sisters, Mrs. Francis Warfield, Dickerson, and Mrs. Rebecca Kee, Washington. Funeral services will be held from the Hilton Funeral Home, Barnesville, Friday at 2 p.m. Interment in the Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.
