Military rites will be conducted by Wasmer post, 241, American legion. Six grandsons will be casketbearers. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday by the parish and by the Knights of Columbus at 8:30 p.m. Mr. Ortmann was a member of the Holy Name society, the KC's and Wasmer post. He was born Dec. 9, 1890 at Creve Couer, Mo., to Henry and Mary Muckermann Ortmann. He came to this area in 1916 and served in France in the United States army in world war one. He farmed near Le Mars until 1950, retiring to Le Mars. Edward Ortmann and Mary Langel were married in Le Mars April 29, 1919. She died in Sept., 1933. On Oct. 2, 1934 he married Anna Langel. She died in February 1973. Survivors are five daughters, Sister Eleanor, S.C.C. and Sister Alice, S.C.C., both of Willmette, Ill.; Mrs. Clarence (Irene) Bueltel, Omaha; Mrs. William (Joan) Thommes, Le Mars; Mrs. Paul (Ethel) Homan of Remsen; two sons, Cyril A. of Merrill and James of Le Mars; 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
