Description	:	HAWARDEN, Iowa - Edward "Bud" Bolluyt, 74, of Hawarden died Monday, Aug. 23, 2004, at a Sioux City hospital. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Hawarden Community Church with the Rev. Doug Baker officiating. Burial will be at Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden. Visitation will begin at noon today at Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Edward "Bud" Bolluyt was born May 7, 1930. in Maurice, Iowa, to Bert and Susie (Schreur) Bolluyt. He attended Hawarden High School and served with the U.S. Navy before and during the Korean Conflict. Bud married Clara Nyhof on Jan. 17, 1954, in Hawarden. They lived in Hawarden where he was employed with the road department of Sioux County. He later worked as a mason with brick, block and concrete. He was a carpenter before becoming a mechanic and the transportation director at West Sioux Schools. He retired in 1993 after spending 17 years with the school. He was a charter member of Hawarden Community Church where he served as a deacon. He enjoyed doing woodworking, target shooting and having coffee at the "office" at Fiesta Foods. Survivors include his wife Clara; three children, Diana and husband Chip Gatton of Carroll, Iowa, Mark Bolluyt of Orange City, Iowa, and Carla and hushand Ken Schmidt of Hawarden; a brother, Dean Bolluyt and wife Carol of Hawarden; a brother-in-law, Don Schlueter of Hawarden; a sister-in-law, Grace Huenink of Hawarden; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Elmer; and two sisters, Irene Bolluyt and Edith Schlueter.
