He was born Nov. 23, 1920, in St. Marys, OH, the son of Andrew & Maude (Caldwell) Kohler, who preceded him in death. On July 21, 1949, he married Beth Fisher Koenig, and she survives. He was preceded in life by 2 daughters, Kathryn Jaczko & Christina Farley, 3 sisters, Mildred Kohler, Ethel Wibbeler, Mary Larsh, and 3 brothers, Robert, Clarence & Roy Kohler. Chuck retired as a machinist from the Minster Machine Co., after 19 years service. He served in the U.S. Army during W.W. II. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta. His other memberships included a life member of the Wapakoneta V.F.W. Post #8445 and the American Legion Post #323, St. Marys. He was also a member of the Merrill’s Marauders, a veteran organization. An inventor, he enjoyed woodworking and making crafts of all kinds. A Mass of Christian will be 10:30 a.m., Sat. Nov. 29, 2014, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, Rev. Daniel Hunt officiating. Burial is to follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by the Wapakoneta V.F.W. psot #8445. The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m., Fri. at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home & Cremation Services, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta. Memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Renovation Fund.
