Description	:	Age 84 of Lower Sackville, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, July 12, 2020. Born in Halifax on December 15, 1935, he was a son of the late Herbert and Hildred (Davis) Rudge. The family moved to Lower Sackville in 1940 where he resided for the majority of his life. Ed was a hard worker all of his life and one of his greatest achievements was becoming a bricklayer/stonemason. Read More	Age 84 of Lower Sackville, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, July 12, 2020. Born in Halifax on December 15, 1935, he was a son of the late Herbert and Hildred (Davis) Rudge. The family moved to Lower Sackville in 1940 where he resided for the majority of his life. Ed was a hard worker all of his life and one of his greatest achievements was becoming a bricklayer/stonemason. Through the years he has worked on many schools, shopping malls, churches and individual home chimneys and fireplaces across Nova Scotia. He was a member of the local BAC 1 bricklayers union. As well he was a member of the Sackville Legion Calais Branch 162 for the past 40 years where he was a member of the pool league as well as enjoying spending time playing crib. Ed is survived by his daughter, Susan Weir. As well he was not only a grandfather but mentor to his grandchildren, Charles Rudge (Ashley), Nicholas Weir (Kendall) and Kathleen Weir (Philip). He loved spending time with his great-grandchildren, Hayden, Lily, Kailer, Jordan and the newest member of the family, Denver. He is survived by brothers, Albert and Wayne. He married Carole June Craig in June of 1959 (deceased 2005). He was predeceased by brothers, Herbert and Robert; and sisters, Barbara, Marlene and Linda.
