He was taken to the Seneca hospital and there he lived until August 10, 1957 at 5:00 p.m. His entire life was spent at Lillis, Kansas until 1938 when the family moved to Frankfort, Kansas. He was taken to the Seneca hospital and there he lived until August 10, 1957 at 5:00 p.m. His entire life was spent at Lillis, Kansas until 1938 when the family moved to Frankfort, Kansas. His occupation was a railroad worker and started to work for the railroad in 1926 and retired in 1952. He then spent his time in the spring doing garden work and the rest of his time was spent entertaining his grand- children. Edward Hazlett, the son of William and Jane Hazlett was born on April 11, 1882 at Lillis, Kansas. He was married to Vera Founds on October 23, 1916 at Marysville, Kansas and to this union five children were born. Mr. Hazlett was 75 years of age. He had been in failing health since the car accident on December 25, 1956, but he did not complain to anyone and was always laughing and cheerful. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Vera; two sons Jack Hazlett of the home, and Cecil Hazlett, “Chief of Police” at Frankfort, Kansas three daughters, Jacqueline Hazlett of the home, Mrs. Mal Hayes, Lillis, Kansas, Mrs. Albert Perry, Frankfort, Kansas, and one granddaughter, who made her home with them, Mrs. Delphia Colvin; 14 grandchildren one great-grandchild, sisters, and brothers. Funeral services were held on August 13,1957 at the St. Joseph Church in Lillis, Kansas and burial was in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were all railroad men whom he had worked with for years, Ernest Askren, Clifford Picker, Paul Murphy, Clarence Leupold, Lawrence Noud, and Charlie McGeeney.
