Description	:	Edward Dean Palmer, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Palmer, was born at Republic, Kansas near the state line between Kansas and Nebraska. He died accidently on his own farm near De Smet, So. Dak., while working with his cattle on their dairy farm on December 6, 1979, at the age of 50 years. He spent his youth on a farm near Chester, Nebraska. He was baptized at the age of 10 at the First Christian Church at Chester, Ne. Read More	Edward Dean Palmer, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Palmer, was born at Republic, Kansas near the state line between Kansas and Nebraska. He died accidently on his own farm near De Smet, So. Dak., while working with his cattle on their dairy farm on December 6, 1979, at the age of 50 years. He spent his youth on a farm near Chester, Nebraska. He was baptized at the age of 10 at the First Christian Church at Chester, Ne. The family moved to South Dakota in 1951 and settled on a farm south of DeSmet (sic). Ed entered the United States Army in September of 1952 and was a Military Policeman in Korea. He was discharged in August of 1954. On October 17, 1954, he was joined in holy wedlock to Norma Hof at Madison. After their marriage they farmed south of DeSmet (sic) until the time of his death. Among survivors who are grateful for having shared in his life are his wife, Norma; two sons, Steven and Gene, both at home; five daughters, Elizabeth Palmer of Aberdeen, Mrs. Mike (Sandra) Larson of Havelock, N.C., Peggy, Jan and Dawn Palmer, all at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Palmer of DeSmet (sic); two brothers, Richard of Grangeville, Idaho, and Raymond of Rapid City; and one sister, Mrs. Duane (Virginia) Hojer of Oldmah. Edward was preceded in death by one sister, Charlotte Hendricks. Funeral services were held on Monday, December 10, 1979 at the First Congregational Church, DeSmet (sic), South Dakota at 11:00 a.m., conducted by the Rev. L. James Tieszen. Casketbearers were Ron Kaufman, Francis Hendircks (sic), Bob Shrout, Bernard Cavanaugh, Neal Eickmann, Leo Prokosch and all close friends are considered Honorary Caskebearers. Interment was as (sic) the DeSmet (sic) Cemetery, DeSmet (sic), So. Dakato. Chester Herald, unknown date
