Description	:	Eddy Lakoduk, 96, Fargo, formerly of Butte, ND passed Thursday, March 27, 2014 in a Fargo Hospital. Eddy was born on December 10, 1917 in Olivia Township of McHenry County northwest of Butte, ND. He was the oldest child of Sam and Mary (Siroshton) Lakoduk and graduated from Butte High School. Read More	Eddy Lakoduk, 96, Fargo, formerly of Butte, ND passed Thursday, March 27, 2014 in a Fargo Hospital. Eddy was born on December 10, 1917 in Olivia Township of McHenry County northwest of Butte, ND. He was the oldest child of Sam and Mary (Siroshton) Lakoduk and graduated from Butte High School. Eddy was united in marriage to Gladys Norberg, September 2, 1938 in Minot. Their union was a long and loving one with many good times, travels, deep affection and trust. They retired in their early 60’s and spent the summer months at their Pelican Lake, MN lake home and the winter months for 28 years in Palm Desert, CA. Also, they maintained their home in Butte, ND, for fun family gatherings with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. ED was a worker and when he started something he would never ever quit. He was truly an inspiration. In the early 1960’s his eldest son Larry was working as a DJ at a radio station in Fargo, ND and told Ed the station was for sale. Ed suggested that they should try to buy it. After working for more than two years to raise capital they were able to finally buy the station and on May 1, 1965 KQWB AM radio and Midwest Radio Company, was born. This radio station became the most listened to and largest revenue producing station in Fargo and North Dakota. In addition, for many years, Ed sold life and health insurance across the state of North Dakota and into Montana. He was quite successful and consistently was among the top sellers. When his brother Roy became ill in the mid 1960’s Ed retired from sales and began farming land north of Butte, ND which he had purchased many years prior. Thankfully, grain prices and productivity were above average in the mid 70’s and he was able to retire at that time. Gladys died on February 15, 2011. Ed greatly enjoyed being involved with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Attending their sporting events, school programs and piano recitals was great fun for him. He also loved the water skiing shows the kids would put on for us at Pelican Lake. He played golf for the first time when he was 63 years of age and became pretty good. Ed is survived by sons: Larry Lakoduk, Carlsbad, CA and James (Linda) Lakoduk, Fargo, ND and his sister Dorothy Nygard, Minot, ND. Larry’s children, Kim (Mark) Rudrud , Minneapolis, Tammy (Dave) Zigrang, Carlsbad, CA, Todd Lakoduk, Carlsbad, CA. Jim’s children, Melony Taylor, Detroit Lakes, MN, Melissa Swanson, Fargo, ND and Nicholas Lakoduk, Fargo, ND. Great-grandchildren are, Ashley, Courtney and Lauren Lakoduk, Kalie and Tanner Zigrang, Madeleine, Julia and James Taylor, Benjamin, Brooke and Sienna Swanson. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers Alfred, Ralph, Alvin and Roy, sister Lorraine (Ted) Meyer, daughter-in-law Audrey (Nelson) Lakoduk and grandson Jay Lakoduk.
