Description	:	Eddie and his friend Verlin Lee Rogers were killed about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night, March 30, 1948, in an automobile accident about 2 miles east of Ottumwa on Highway 34. The boys were in Brumbaugh’s car, with him at the wheel, driving from Agency to Ottumwa. They had left their homes about 8:00 p.m., stopping at a roller skating rink before going to Agency. At the time of the accident, Eddie was employed by John Morrell & Company. He had lived in Ottumwa for the past 10 years.
