Description	:	Edward Eugene Epton, Sr., 76, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, October 20, 2003, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A native of Cherokee Springs, SC, he was the son of the late Isaac Henry Epton and Claude (Pettit) Epton. A graduate of Spartanburg High School, he attended Wofford College, and was a retired supervisor with Spartan Mills. Read More	Edward Eugene Epton, Sr., 76, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, October 20, 2003, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A native of Cherokee Springs, SC, he was the son of the late Isaac Henry Epton and Claude (Pettit) Epton. A graduate of Spartanburg High School, he attended Wofford College, and was a retired supervisor with Spartan Mills. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Spartanburg where he was a member of the Early Bird Sunday School Class and the Young at Heart, a US Army Veteran of World War II, and member of the Inner Club Seniors Golf Association and the Lan-Yair Country Club. Survivors include his wife, Lou Alice (Martin) Epton of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Reba Epton of Boiling Springs; a grandson and his wife, Joshua E. and Kerie P. Epton of Duncan; and a brother, Joe P. Epton of Daytona Beach, FL. He was predeceased by four brothers, Walter A. Epton, Frank J. Epton, Jack P. Epton, and Lewis J. Epton; and by two sisters, Alice E. Webber and Sara E. Wilson. Visitation was 7:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2003, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 23, 2003, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel conducted by the Rev. Bill Adams and the Rev. Dr. Michael S. Hamlet. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials could be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 250 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306.
