Honeyman, 93, of Hettinger, ND will be Saturday, January 20, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hettinger and the burial will follow with Military Honors at the Hettinger Cemetery. Visitations will be from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Hettinger on Friday, Jan. 19 and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday morning. HONEYMAN was born on November 21, 1913 in New England, ND to August and Caroline (Roether) Honeyman. He grew up on the homestead farm and attended Cedar School nearby. Ed worked with his parents on the farm along with working at the Haynes Mine. From 1944 to 1946, Ed served his country in the US Marine Corp, stationed at Maui on the Hawaiian Islands during World War II. After his honorable service to his country and Corp, he returned to North Dakota and worked as a mechanic at Michaelson Motors in Jamestown, ND. On November 19, 1947, he married Eleanore Krug in Regent, ND. They lived the majority of their married life on the homestead in Adams County, ND. There they raised three children: Marilyn, Holly and Wayne. Ed loved farming and ranching and in his spare time he also enjoyed hunting. He was very proud of his registered Angus cattle, having raised a grand champion bull. In 1980, his family helped him construct a new home in Hettinger, ND. He was a big part of the project and was a jack-of-all-trades. Even though he retired, he continued to help Wayne with the farming operations. After selling the farm equipment, Ed couldn't just sit around, so he found a hobby of making grandfather clocks. With the help of a good friend, Lawrence Stokes, Ed gained interest in restoring pianos, reed organs and many different instruments. From that hobby, he acquired many player type instruments which became the pride of "Honeyman's Music Room". Through the years he and Eleanore enjoyed RV camping, fishing and boating. They loved their extensive travels in their motor home. Ed was the proud sponsor of the Honeyman Angus Bowling team of Regent for many years, was a member of the American Legion in Regent for 53 years and a member of the St. Henry's Catholic Church most of his life until moving to Hettinger where he became a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He was a member of the Eagles in Hettinger and a lifetime member of the American Angus Association, the President of the Adams County Breeder's Association and a member of the Good Sam's Club. Ed's greatest achievement was his successful marriage of almost 60 years and his treasured children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Edward Honeyman passed away on January 14, 2007 at the West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger, ND.
