Kenneally This community was shocked and grieved to learn of the death of a very popular young man, Edward Kenneally, who passed away, last Thursday evening at Mercy Hospital, Dubuque. He had a very serious operation some few weeks ago but was improving nicely when complications set in and his demise followed. Deceased was one of the excellent men of this community where he had been a resident for the past ten years. He was held in the highest respect by all who knew him and his family and relatives have the sincere sympathy of a wide circle of friends, countless in number, in the time of their bereavement. Edward Kenneally, son of the late Edward and Ellen Sullivan Kenneally was born at Garryowen May 14, 1885. About ten years ago he came to Cascade and joined his brother, Joseph, in the meat business for two years and later disposed of his interests to his brother and engaged in other occupations. The brothers were inseparable until the malady which he suffered parted them in the regrettable manner aforementioned. Surviving are his sisters, Mrs. Austin Alexander (Regina) and Josephine of Cascade, Mrs. Frank Conlin (Mame) of LaMotte, two brothers Joseph of Cascade and Neal of Bernard. Funeral services for Mr. Kenneally were held at St. Martin's church, Monday morning at 9 a. m. Solemn Requiem Mass was sung with Rev. Jas. F. Delay, celebrant, Rev. Holub of Dubuque, Deacon and Rev P. F. Malone of Garryowen, Sub-deacon. Burial was made in St. Patrick's cemetery, Garryowen. Pallbearers were: Louis Moran, Joe Tallman, Francis McDermott, Al Lane, Jerry Ryle, Vincent Donovan, George Breitbach and E. J. Kean. Those from a distance who attended the funeral were John Sullivan, Miss Lizzie Lynch, Mrs. Thomas O'Connor, Miss Lizzie Donahue, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Sweeney, Dubuque; Mr. and Mrs. Neal Kenneally and daughter Cornelia, Rockford, Ill., and Mr. and Mrs. Vince Phelan of Rockford, Ill., and many other friends.
