Description	:	Edward Franklin “PeeWee” Painter, age 78, of 230 Fairview Road in Luray, Va., passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2015, surrounded by family after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Mr. Painter was born on June 11, 1936, in Newport, Shenandoah, Va. He was the first born son of the late John F. and Beulah Shenk Painter. Read More	Edward Franklin “PeeWee” Painter, age 78, of 230 Fairview Road in Luray, Va., passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2015, surrounded by family after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Mr. Painter was born on June 11, 1936, in Newport, Shenandoah, Va. He was the first born son of the late John F. and Beulah Shenk Painter. He was a veteran of our country serving in the Air Force from 1954-1959. He was a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in Luray, Va., for 30 years. He also owned the Luray Bowling Lanes and QVS Pizza and Subs. He was also a life member of the Luray Volunteer Fire Department. Along with being an avid bowler, he had a love for people that showed through his personality. He was loved by God and so many others in the community. He is survived by daughter Debbie Judd and friend Lee Keyser; grandson Zachary Judd; daughter Terri Painter and friend Julian Rittenour; granddaughter Hollie Vile and husband Blair; great-granddaughter Lexie Vile; great-grandson Landon Vile; great-granddaughter Lakin Vile; grandson Shawn Mayes and friend Brittany Aldridge; great-grandson Liam Mayes; daughter Karen Taylor and husband Donny; granddaughter Amanda Taylor; grandson Alan Michael Taylor; great-grandson Jayden Taylor; brother Irvin Lee and sister-in-law Patsy Painter; sister, Joann and brother-in-law Jim Reid; brother J.D. Painter and friend Diane; brother Jerry and sister-in-law Wanda Painter; sister Sue and brother-in-law Dick Cooley; sister Brenda and brother-in-law, Dave Dofflemyer. He is also survived by seven nieces and five nephews and several great nieces and nephews. Mr. Painter was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Painter; brother-in-law Jack Painter; and nephew Chris Painter. Pastor Mark Hopkins conducted the funeral at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 6, 2015, at the Bradley Funeral Home. Following military honors, burial was at Mount Zion Church of the Brethren in Luray, Va. A meal was provided for family and friends by the Luray Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary following services. Visitation was Sunday, April 5, 2015, from 6-8 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home.
