Description	:	Ed was born on a farm 9 miles north of Humboldt, Nebr. to Christian Rockemann and Anna Tjaden. He was one of 6 children. He was baptized at St. James Lutheran Church on Nov. 7, 1909, by Rev. E. F. Geyer. Edward received his education at Prairie Hill School. He was a farmer most of his life with the exception of working at Campbell Soup Co. in Tecumseh, for 5 years before his retirement. He was married on May 8, 1935, in Seneca, Kansas to Nora Maria Reimers. They lived on different farms until 1965... Read More	Ed was born on a farm 9 miles north of Humboldt, Nebr. to Christian Rockemann and Anna Tjaden. He was one of 6 children. He was baptized at St. James Lutheran Church on Nov. 7, 1909, by Rev. E. F. Geyer. Edward received his education at Prairie Hill School. He was a farmer most of his life with the exception of working at Campbell Soup Co. in Tecumseh, for 5 years before his retirement. He was married on May 8, 1935, in Seneca, Kansas to Nora Maria Reimers. They lived on different farms until 1965 when they moved to Johnson, Nebr. They were the parents of 2 daughters. Nora Maria passed away on May 1, 1987. Ed continued to live in Johnson until he had a severe stroke on June 20, 1992. He became a resident of Nemaha County Good Samaritan Center in Auburn, Nebr on July 29, 1992. It was there that he passed away on Jan. 27, 1993, at the age of 84 years, 3 months and 16 days. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Nora; an infant brother; and his 2 sisters, Aletha Storant and Elverta Carpenter. Those left to mourn his passing are his two daughters, Floraine and husband John Lunzmann of Auburn and Susan and husband Robert Hogrefe of Auburn; 2 granddaughters, Kimberly and husband Larry Kruger, and Pamela and husband Roger Alexander; 2 grandsons, Jeffrey and Quintin Hogrefe; 6 great grandchildren, Carrie, Wendy and Daniel Alexander and Brian, Nathan, and Jenna Kruger; 2 sisters, Mrs. Ruth Slater of Auburn and Mrs. Allene Antholz of Humboldt, Nebraska. Funeral services were held at Casey-Witzenburg Chapel in Auburn, on Jan. 31, 1994. Interment was in the St. Matthew Cemetery, in Johnson, Nemaha County, Nebraska.
