After four weeks of intense suffering Gail (sic), the 4-year-old son of Mart and Mary Philliber, died at his home 2 miles south of Plevna, Mo., Monday morning, April 26, 1909. While all nature was alive to the touch of spring and the sun spread its beautiful rays over this earth little Gail (sic) closed his baby eyes to the sorrows of this world and went to dwell with Jesus. There is sorrow and grief in the home to-day while little Gail (sic) plays at the Master's feet and is happy, sheltered from all storms of life forever. There is a vacant place in the home that never can be filled and one more angel in heaven. Gail (sic) was a bright babe, mamma's company while the other members of the family were about their several duties. The grief stricken family have the sympathy of all the community. May they look to Jesus, who holds our loved ones in the hollow of his hand. "Suffer little children to come unto me for of such is the kingdom of heaven." Gail (sic) leaves a mother, his father preceded him in death three years ago, and also leaves two brothers, three sisters, two aged grandmothers and a number of other relatives. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Bro. Weiland and burial took place at the Cedar Grove cemetery. E. K. Once more the Death Angel has visited our home and taken from us our darling baby, Edward Gale, son of Mary and Mart Philliber, Was born Jan. 15, 1905. Aged 4 years, 3 months, 11 days. This little bud was just blooming in all its beauty when God came to transplant it in his garden above on Monday morning, April 26, 1909, after 4 long weeks of intense suffering of congestion of the brain. All that loving hands with the kind physicians could do was done, but was all in vain. He was the joy of the home, the pride of his mother and loved ones. Oh what sadness this has cast o'er the home of this little one. But Jesus says "Suffer little children and come unto me and I will give you rest." We know baby Gale is at rest and will not have to endure the sufferings in this world that we do. He leaves to mourn his death a sorrowing mother, 2 brothers, 3 sisters and many relatives and friends to await the words "come home." Funeral services were conducted at home by Rev. Weiland of Leonard, after which the remains were laid to rest in the King cemetery by the side of his father, who preceded him in death when an infant. Farewell dear mamma I must go Where I'll not sigh nor weep, I'm going where I'll brighter grow, 'Tis no eternal sleep. 'Tis hard to give thee up sweet one And yet 'tis for the best, Sickness and pain and all are gone but thine's eternal rest.
