Edward "Eddie" Stevens, Jr., (date of birth: April 10, 1913), was the second-born son of Edward Marshall Bisbee Stevens & his first wife, Ella Childers Stevens. Eddie's older sister, Minnie Stevens, was born in 1909, and his older brother, Robert Franklin "Bobby" Stevens, was born in 1911. Their young mother, Ella died of T.B. in February of 1915, leaving her husband, Edward Stevens, Sr., with their three young children to raise. Edward, Sr., remarried a few years later. His second wife, Ethel (Hurt) Stevens, was a loving stepmother; and, in the next few years, became the mother of three additional Stevens children: Cecil, Vernon, and Ruby. . Eddie Stevens, Jr. was a very intelligent young man, and attended High School in Joplin, Missouri. The 1931 "King Jack" Yearbook shows his senior picture with the following commentary: "NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY," and, "Senior Play." Eddie was an accomplished writer, and was involved in the High School Oratorical Association. He was the also the President of the local Christian Association. Eddie died in December of 1931, as the result a lifelong health impairment, which had continued to impact his health, and wellbeing. Rest in Peace, Eddie. . _____________________
