The older Holloway was 76 years old. He suffered a stroke of paralysis two years ago, his first illness, but the immediate cause of death was pneumonia, which he contracted a few days ago. In a home on Center Street, not far from the house where his father died, Commissioner Holloway himself is waging a serious battle with pneumonia. He was stricken ill about the same time as his father and because of his illness the commissioners were unable to hold their weekly session to transact borough business this week. The elder Holloway emigrated to this country from London, about fifty years ago. He was a stone mason and many of the old homes of Haddonfield, erected in the last half century, are a monument to his work. He retired some years ago, and his sons have carried on the contracting and building business since then. His wife, Jessie, died last summer in her seventy-sixth year. Besides Commissioner Holloway and son Howard, Mr Holloway is survived by Roland Holloway, chief of the Haddonfield Fire Company; Leonard, Edward, Charles, William and George Holloway. He was the father of ten children, nine of them boys.* A son, Lester, and a daughter, Jessie, are dead. There are about thirty grandchildren surviving and nine great-grandchildren. Nearly all still reside in Haddonfield and vicinity." *Records exist showing Edward Holloway fathered 12 children, two of whom lived for a day or less: a female and a male. His brother Charles Edward Holloway is also buried in Haddonfield Baptist Cemetery. Regarding the burial card: John Bozarth was Jessie Holloway's husband. Albert Lester Holloway and William Holloway were Jessie's brothers. Eva was the wife of William Holloway. Jessie Thomas-Holloway and Edward Holloway were Jessie, Albert, and William's parents. Charles Holloway was the brother of Edward Holloway. Doris Wells' relationship is currently unknown, but it is believed she was likely the granddaughter of Albert Lester Holloway and daughter of Howard T Wells and Jessie Holloway-Wells.
