Description	:	Edward was born February 15, 1934 in Exira, Iowa to Edward and Martha Jayne. He graduated in 1952 and worked various jobs. Edward moved to Des Moines in 1968 and worked at Blue Cross & Blue Shield for five months before going to work for the State Auditor, where he remained for 10 years. Edward retired in 1994 from the State of Iowa Workforce Development as an accountant after 26 years of service. He was very active in the Republican Party. He graduated in 1952 and worked various jobs. Edward moved to Des Moines in 1968 and worked at Blue Cross & Blue Shield for five months before going to work for the State Auditor, where he remained for 10 years. Edward retired in 1994 from the State of Iowa Workforce Development as an accountant after 26 years of service. He was very active in the Republican Party. Edward was a 30 year member of Toastmasters, a Scout Master for 15 years and a Big Brother for two years. He was also an active member of Freedom Church. Edward had served as a short term missionary to the Ukraine and Siberia. He also enjoyed woodworking and writing. Edward is survived by his wife, Janet; sons, Eric (Kathryn) Jayne and David Jayne; sister, Wilma (John) Wilson; grandchildren, Eleanor, Robert, Owen, Daniel, Andrew and Emily Jayne; and his step-grandchildren, Kira Schermerhorn and T.J. Allen. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Wanda Saalsaa.
