Flamand of Northbridge, and Daniel P. Flamand and his wife Maureen (Richards) Flamand of Boylston, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, Two sisters, Sister Jane Flamand of The Sisters of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin, Worcester and Sister Solange Flamand, of the Sisters of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin, Marlborough, two brothers, Norman A. Flamand and Joseph Flamand, both of Northbridge, and nephews and nieces. He was born in Northbridge on September 12, 1922, a son of the late Joseph and Eva (Desmarais)Flamand and was a lifelong resident. He was a U.S.Army Air Force veteran of World War II serving in France as an aircraft technician and a translator of French for his unit. Mr. Flamand worked as a welder for 25 years at the Wyman-Gordon Co., North Grafton, before he retired in 1984. Previously he had worked at the Paul Whitin Manufacturing Co., Northbridge and at Roxbury Carpet Co., Saxonville. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Parish. Northbridge where he was a tenor soloist in the parish choir for many years. He was also a member of Oliver Ashton Post #343, American Legion, Northbridge, and the Rockdale Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but he most enjoyed raising Basset Hounds and training them to hunt rabbits and hare. His funeral will be held Thursday, Feb 16 from the Turgeon Funeral Home, 80 School Street, Northbridge with a Funeral Mass at 11a.m. in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 39 Church Ave, Northbridge. Following Mass he will be buried beside his beloved wife in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Whitinsville. There will be a visiting hour in the funeral home from 9:30 to 10:30 before the Mass.
