Description	:	Edward Keller 90 of Harvey died Saturday March 31, 2012 at the St. Alexius Hospital of Bismarck. Funeral mass will be Wednesday April 4 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey with prayer services at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey, ND. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Edward was born on December 3, 1921 in Wellsburg, ND. He was the son of Sebastian and Kathryn (Wack) Keller. He grew up and attended school in Wellsburg. Ed entered the army in 1942 and was stationed in Texas. Ed married Rose Goldade on July 31,1944 in Selz. They lived in Texas where he was stationed in a service command unit and was qualified as a sharp shooter and light truck driver. He received an honorable discharge in January 1946. They moved to the Wellsburg area in 1946 and operated the post office and grocery store there. In 1952 they moved to farm south of Wellsburg. They were blessed with five children. He farmed and ranched and retired in 1985. Rose and Ed continued to live on the farm and assisted in the farming operation. Ed entered the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in December 2010. Rose died on June 14, 2011. Ed was a member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church, American Legion Post and Wells Eagles Aerie # 3080 all of Harvey. Ed enjoyed playing cards and bowling. He was a man of extremes. Bowling nights or selling bingo cards at the Vet’s Club were commitments which were met no matter how bad the weather was. He collected pennies until he filled an 8 gallon cream can. He saved and crushed 2200 pounds of aluminum cans of which required a grain truck to haul to the salvage yard in Minot. He loved to hunt, fish and trap. A family remembrance of one cold winter night had Ed, Rose and Linda rabbit hunting. A rest stop was necessary for all and Ed and Linda returned to the car and quickly drove off. Linda repeatedly asked Ed where her “mommy” was until he realized he had left her on the side the road. Ed went back to pick up his wife, Rose who had been waiting quite impatiently for his return. Ed was generous and caring to friends and strangers. He would lend a hand to anyone. Ed is survived by two sons, Larry (Judy) Keller of Fessenden, Ronald (Lori) Keller of Harvey; three daughters, Linda (Paul) Oster, Bismarck, Charlotte (Greg) Quarne of Williston; Tammie (Pius) Fettig of Martin; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald Keller of Harvey, Jerry Keller of Dickinson. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Rose; grandchildren, Dustin Vallier and Aric Quarne; brothers, Jim Keller, John Keller, Leo Keller, Steve Keller, Bob Keller; infant sister, Mary Keller.
