Read More	DEATH CLAIMS AN AKRON YOUNG MAN ON FRIDAY MORNING Edward Burnight Dies Suddenly During Illness After an Operation Deep and sudden sorrow came to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Burnight, of this city, when their son, Edward passed away at 2:30 o'clock last Friday morning, January 20, 1933, after an illness of nearly two months, aged 16 years and 6 months. On the 25th of last Novemer, the day after Thanksgiving, he was taken suddenly ill with appendicitis and the appendix was ruptured before the operation was performed. His condition remained most critical for a number of days, but finally improvement began and eventually he was able to be removed from the local hospital to his home. Although left very weak by the operation and illness and improvement was slow, there appeared to be no reason to doubt that he would ultimately recover. Last Thursday night his condition took a slight turn for the worse and his doctor was called, who administered a hypo to relieve his distress. Soon afterward, as he was being turned in bed he collapsed and passed away immediately. His sudden and unepected taking away came as a hard blow to his parents, brothers, and sister, who have the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement. During his weeks of suffereing he was very patient and uncomplaining. Edward Burnight was born in Akron, Iowa, July 20, 1917, and lived hee during all his life. He attended the parochial and public schools. At the time of his death was a member of the Sophomore class of the Akron high school. Much interested in athletles, he was a member of the Akron high football and basketball teams, being one of the first squad players on the football team the past season, earning his letter. A lad of happy nature and friendly disposition, he was popular among his companions and classmates, who sincerely mourn his untimely departure. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock in St. Patrick's Catholic church. Members of his class in Akron high school escorted the remains from the home to the church and attended the services. The pallbearers were members of the football squad--Harold Port, Lowell SWift, Joy Neal, George Harkness, Robert Pollock and Russell Montugne. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery.
