Description	:	HAYS – Edward L. ‘Ed’ Stremel, 89, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at Hays Medical Center. He was born Oct. 13, 1913, near Loretta to John R. and Susanna (Haberkorn) Stremel. He attended school in Loretta. He married Isabel A. Schuckman on March 2, 1943, in Liebenthal. He was a farmer and member of St. Anthony Catholic church and Schoenchen Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons: Edward Jr. and his wife, Mary, Shawnee, and Michael and his wife, Cindy, Hays; two daughters, Esther Schaffer, Wichita, and Irene Foster and her husband Morris, Woodbury, Minn.;... Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons: Edward Jr. and his wife, Mary, Shawnee, and Michael and his wife, Cindy, Hays; two daughters, Esther Schaffer, Wichita, and Irene Foster and her husband Morris, Woodbury, Minn.; a daughter-in-law, Claudia Stremel, Hays; a brother, Richard, Great Bend; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren’ and a step-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Joh, five brothers and five sisters. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony Catholic church, Schoenchen; burial in St. Anthony Cemetery, Schoenchen. Visitation will be until 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at Brock’s North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine. There will be a parish vigil service at 7 p.m. today followed by a Schoenchen Knights of Columbus rosary, both at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested for Masses, St. Anthony Church or St. Anthony Cemetery Fund, both in Schoenchen. HAYS DAILY NEWS -- 01/13/2003
