Description	:	Edward Lawrence Coffey, son of Edward and Mary Coffey, was born March 21, 1886, near Crete, Neb. He passed away May 10, 1957, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lincoln, Neb., having reached the age of 71 years, 1 month and 19 days. May 22, 1912, he was united in marriage to Magdalena Patz in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Crete, by Rev. Gerard Boll. To this union were born four sons, Lloyd, Leonard, Edward and Albert. Read More	Edward Lawrence Coffey, son of Edward and Mary Coffey, was born March 21, 1886, near Crete, Neb. He passed away May 10, 1957, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lincoln, Neb., having reached the age of 71 years, 1 month and 19 days. May 22, 1912, he was united in marriage to Magdalena Patz in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Crete, by Rev. Gerard Boll. To this union were born four sons, Lloyd, Leonard, Edward and Albert. In February 1926, Mr. Coffey and his family moved to a farm northeast of Exeter, where they resided until June 1945, at which time Mr. and Mrs. Coffey retired from the farm and moved to Exeter. Ed was a faithful member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church, a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather; being deeply devoted to his family and grandchildren. Those of the family left to mourn his passing are his wife, Magdalena; his four sons and their familys: Lloyd, Leonard, Edward and Albert, all living near Exeter and four daughters-in-law. His life goes on in the life of his 13 grandchildren, eight granddaughters and five grandsons. Brothers and sisters mourning his passing are: Maurice Coffey of Crete, Mrs. Nick Patz of Whittier, Cal., Mrs. Frieda Muff of Dow City, Ia., Mrs. Anna Schofield of Nevada, Mrs. Mike Koci of Dow City, Ia., and Mrs. Ben Haufle of Exeter. There are also many other relatives, friends and neighbors who will cherish his memory. One brother, one sister and three grandchildren preceded him in death. Funeral services wee held Tuesday, May 14, at 9:30 in St. Stephens Catholic Church with Rt. Rev. H. H. Ingenhorst officiating in the Requiem High Mass. Pallbearers were Leslie Miller, Irvin Coates, John Harre, John Leif, Paul Becker and William Wilger. Interment was in the Exeter Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal May 1957
