Malone, claiming the beloved son, Edward Leo, twenty-four years of age, the summons for the young man coming Friday evening, March 23, at eight o'clock. Mr. Malone had been in frail health for several years. He had been able to be about and appeared to be in fine spirit, when almost without warning on Friday evening at about five o'clock he was stricken with a heart attack, and passed away three hours later. Funeral services were held at St. Mary's church here Monday morning at nine o'clock, Rev. F. W. McKinley reading the mass, and in his funeral address, paid a beautiful tribute to the life and character of the young man. A large number of relatives and friends attended the services, thereby expressing to the sorrowing mother, brothers and sisters their sincere sympathy for them. Burial was made in the family lot in the Catholic cemetery at Masonville. Edward Leo Malone was born in Manchester, March 12, 1910, and received his education in St. Xavier's school here. As a young man he entered the employ of Peter Hooshagen, and learned the trade of a barber. Following the death of Mr. Hooshagen the young man purchased the business and equipment and conducted the business for a number of years. Ill health made it necessary for him to give up that line of work and after a period of rest he engaged in booking dance orchestras. Mr. Malone leaves his mother, two sisters, Mrs. Anna McLane, of Pecatonia, Ill; Miss Margaret Malone at home, and three brothers, William, Francis and Hubert Malone of this city. His father passed away in 1927, and two brothers, Joseph and John, also preceded him in death during the past four years. "Eddie" Malone was a dutiful son, always considerate of his mother and the other members of his home. Early in life he learned from his parents the virtue of honest toll, and in his daily life exemplied the teachings of his church. His death brings a great sorrow to the mother and the other members of the family, and the sincere sympathy of many friends goes out to the stricken family.
