Read More	Edward Mason Patterson November 24, 1940 - September 27, 2021 Edward Mason Patterson, 80, of 619 Old Post Road, Gaffney, S.C. went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 27, 2021. Born in Gaffney, he was the loving and devoted husband of Patricia Weaver Patterson for 54 years and the son of the late James Mason Patterson and Irene Whelchel Patterson. He was a graduate of Gaffney High School, a United States Army Veteran and co-owner/operator of Cherokee Masonry. He was a Mason, Shriner, member of the Hillbilly Clan and past President of the Cherokee Shrine Club. He was also a Red Cross volunteer, a volunteer for Macedonia Fire Department, past CHAPS board member, avid Gaffney High School athletic supporter, a member of Broad River Antique Tractor Association and a board member of Broad River Baptist Association Hispanic Ministry. Mr. Patterson was member of Midway Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon, a Sunday School Teacher and current Brotherhood Director. He had a huge heart for Home and International Missions and built numerous churches all over the world. In addition to his wife, also surviving is a son, Bryan Mason Patterson (Brook) of Gaffney; a daughter, Ashley Patterson Brizendine (Kevin) of Gaffney; a brother, Paul K. Patterson of Gaffney; two sisters, Christine P. Harvey of West Columbia, S.C. and Betty Sue P. Roberson of Gaffney; six grandchildren, Michael Reynolds, Anna Reynolds, Noah Patterson, J.D. Thomas, Riley Brizendine and Mayson Brizendine; a brother-in-law, Richard Weaver (Belinda) of Landis, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Patterson was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, William M. Harvey Sr. and Mitchell Roberson; and a sister-in-law, Rebecca M. Patterson. The family will receive friends at the residence and also from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Midway Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. at the church with Reverend Vernon Craig and Reverend Ryan Vaughan officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Midway Baptist Church, "Brotherhood", 153 Midway Road, Gaffney, S.C., 29341 or American Diabetes Association, P.O.
