Edward Morlock, son of Peter and Anna Marie (Delzer) Morlock was born September 21, 1908 at Venturia, ND. He was raised on the Morlock homestead east of Eureka. He attended country school and helped on the family farm. He was united in marriage to Lea Heyd on April 7, 1935 near Venturia. They made their home on the family homestead, where they farmed, raising small grains and livestock. In October of 1970, they retired from farming and moved into Eureka. He continued to help on the farm for many years. His wife died August 5, 1990. He entered nursing care in December of 1999. Edward's life long interest was farming. He enjoyed flower gardening and house plants. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ. Survivors include three sons, Elroy (Arlene) Morlock of Deadwood, SD, Marvin (Mary) Morlock of Eureka and Wilbert (Patty) Morlock of Watertown, SD, one daughter, Ardella Sedivec of Mandan, ND, one sister, Rosa Hoffman of Eureka, two step-brothers, Henry Heyd of Aberdeen and Theo Heyd, one sister-in-law, Leontina Morlock, 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. His parents and wife preceded him in death. Casketbearers will be Rodney Morlock, Mark Morlock, Matthew Morlock, Kevin Sedivec, Kyle Sedivec and Jay Portenier. Carlsen Funeral Home of Eureka have been entrusted with arrangements.
