Description	:	Funeral services for Edward Ray Ealy, 55, Belle Plaine, will be Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Hrabak Funeral Home, Belle Plaine, with Pastor Jack Andrews officiating. Inurnment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown, at a later date. Mr. Ealy died Jan. 25, 2011, at Las Vegas, NV, of heart failure. Edward Ray Ealy was born June 9, 1955, at the Cornbelt Hospital, Belle Plaine, the son of George Douglas and Norma Lucille Thompson Ealy. He graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1973. He married Diana Dawn Koeppen on June 16, 1995, at Vining. Ed worked on the Chicago Northwestern railroad starting in August 1973 and continued with the Union Pacific railroad serving in the structures department for 27 years and then as an ARSA bridge inspector for 10 1/2 years. He loved his job and did it proudly. He enjoyed being in nature, hunting and fishing. He had many hunting and fishing buddies, and enjoyed fishing in Canada with his wife and brother. He loved music and dancing and planted flowers and gardened, cooked, canned and loved to smoke fish. He'd gone to Canada for 38 years with friends and family making many memories during these times. His family was so important to him and he loved spending time with them. His smile and ready humor will be missed by all who loved him. His faith in the Lord sustained him through his life and he is now at peace in the arms of his savior. He was a member of Local 89 Ironworkers for 38 years, ARSA 10 years, Prairie View Christian Church and Ducks Unlimited for five years. He is survived by his wife, Diana, Belle Plaine; his children, Derek John Ealy and Emily Lucille Ealy; a stepson, Billy Jo Kent (Julie); brother, Richard (Bonnie), Wadena, MN; uncle Neal (Melva) Ealy; nephews, Don (Angie), Eric and Tim (Kari) Ealy; two great nieces and one great nephew; aunt Marilyn Ealy; and grandson, Ashton Kent. He was preceded in death by his parents; two uncles, Merlyn Ealy and beloved uncle Ronald "Spiv" Ealy; and aunt Wilma Rupp. Hrabak Funeral Home in Belle Plaine was in charge of arrangements.
