On the marriage record, his parents were named as Jet and Emma (Gee) Feeney. ------------------------- Obituary from "Ottumwa Daily Review," November 3, 1914 (Middle initial was given as "D" in this obituary): MAN DROPS DEAD Edward D. Feeney, 513 West Mill street, dropped dead in the road about one mile north of Highland Center yesterday afternoon about six o'clock while driving a number of horses to Ottumwa. He had been employed to go to the home of a farmer and bring the animals to Ottumwa and while thus employed it was that [sic] he was attacked with heart trouble and death resulted before a physician could arrive. The coroner was immediately notified and the body removed to the Sullivan undertaking parlors and it was stated this morning that there would be no inquest held. Deceased was 23 years of age and has been a resident of Ottumwa practically his entire life. He leaves to mourn his untimely demise a wife and two small children. Funeral arrangements have not been completed and will be announced later. Obituary from "Ottumwa Courier," November 3, 1914: The death of Edward Feeney, 513 West Mill street occurred Monday evening about 6 o'clock about three miles north of Highland Center. Death was sudden. Mr. Feeney was working for John Breon and engaged in bringing some horses for his employer. He had just got out of the rear of the wagon in which he rode, to tie one of the animals and fell dead in the road. Mr. Feeney is survived by his wife and two small children. He was 23 years of age. The funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 o'clock in the afternoon at the residence by Rev. E.W. Farris Holler, pastor of the Benton Street Presbyterian church. Interment will be in Round Point Cemetery.
