McDonald, a resident of the Bayard community for many years, died Tuesday at his home in Des Moines following a period of failing health. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. John Chamberlain and Mrs. Stier, both of Des Moines, and three brothers and two sisters. The brothers are C.P. McDonald of Bayard, Emmett McDonald of South Dakota and Bill McDonald of Chicago. The sisters are Mrs. Nellie Horton of New York and Mae McDonald of New Orleans, La. BAYARD NEWS - Thursday, February 10th, 1944 - The E. McDonald funeral took dinner after the services on Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. John McDonald. In the group were Father Germaine, Mrs. E.S. McDonald, Mrs. Floyd Stier, Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Chamberlin of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. E.L. McDonald and Beatrice Hony of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. John Duffy and Mrs. Mike Brunner of Jefferson, and Mrs. Gene Sullivan of Marengo, Mrs. Guerdon Ewing and Mrs. Hugh Carothers assisted Mrs. McDonald.
