Description	:	OBITUARY-TECUMSEH CHIEFTAIN EDWARD SHASTEEN IS DEAD COOK, NEB., Nov. 14.-(To the Chieftain.)-Edward Shasteen was born in Illinois, November 23, 1856, and died at his home in Cook, Monday last, November 12, 1923. He had been in failing health for some time. Mr. Shasteen was married to Miss Annie Souders in 1883, and to this union seven children were born, five sons and two daughters. He had been in failing health for some time. Mr. Shasteen was married to Miss Annie Souders in 1883, and to this union seven children were born, five sons and two daughters. All are living with the exception of one daughter. Albert and Melvin Shasteen live in Lincoln, George Shasteen lives in Minneapolis, Louis and Carl reside in Oakland, Cal., and Mabel Arthur, the surviving daughter, is living at home at present. All were present at the obsequies with the exception of the sons in California. Beside the wife and children Mr. Shasteen is survived by a sister, Mrs. O. J. Davison of Tecumseh and nine grandchildren. Mt. Shasteen made his home in Johnson county most of his life. He came to Cook from Tecumseh some fourteen years ago. He was a man of even temperment, good traits of character and was held in respect bya wide acquaintance. The wife, children and sister have the sympathy of their friends in the bereavement. The funeral was held at the home, Thursday forenoon, and was conducted by Rev. V. R. Daniels of the Methodist church. The interment was in the Cook cemetery.
