Description	:	Edward Hollmann age 94 of Grinnell, Iowa and formerly of Ewart, Iowa passed away Monday evening at the St Francis Manor in Grinnell. As was his wish his body will be cremated with burial in the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma, Iowa. Edward Warren Hollmann wasthe son of Martin Samwell and Addie Bernice Royce Hollmann. He graduated from Malcom High School in 1939. He was drafted in the US Army in 1942 and served for 41 months during World War II in the 338th Quartermaster Company, spending most of that time in Africa and Italy. As was his wish his body will be cremated with burial in the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma, Iowa. Edward Warren Hollmann wasthe son of Martin Samwell and Addie Bernice Royce Hollmann. He graduated from Malcom High School in 1939. He was drafted in the US Army in 1942 and served for 41 months during World War II in the 338th Quartermaster Company, spending most of that time in Africa and Italy. Following his honorable discharge in 1945 he returned home and farmed with his father. Ed was in the purebred Berkshire hog and purebred black Angus cattle business for a number of years. He was married to Leta Gilmore on June 19,1949 and they made their home on a farm near Ewart, Iowa. He and Leta moved from their farm home in 1995 to Seeland Park in Grinnell. In 2010 Ed moved to Windsor Manor where he lived until July of 2014 at which time he became a resident of St Francis Manor due to his declining health. Ed enjoyed gardening, playing pool and making coffee at the St Francis social center. He also volunteered at the Second Mile in Grinnell.
