Description	:	Edward W. Shaw, age 96, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake. Edward Warren Shaw, the only child of Charles and Lz (Ohl) Shaw, was born August 25, 1910 at Lake View, Iowa. The family moved from Lake View to Wall Lake, Iowa, where Ed attended public school and graduated with the Class of 1928. Read More	Edward W. Shaw, age 96, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake. Edward Warren Shaw, the only child of Charles and Lz (Ohl) Shaw, was born August 25, 1910 at Lake View, Iowa. The family moved from Lake View to Wall Lake, Iowa, where Ed attended public school and graduated with the Class of 1928. After attending college, he returned home to work with his father at the Wall Lake Savings Bank. He was united in marriage to Elinor L. Jensen on August 26, 1933 at her parents' home in Lake View. In 1938 the couple moved to Storm Lake, where Ed worked as an assistant cashier at the Commercial Trust and Savings Bank. In 1942, Ed enlisted in the United States Navy. Following his discharge, he returned home in 1951 and started in the insurance business with New York Life—a career that spanned more than 50 years. Ed was a life member of the NYLIC Clubs with New York Life, a 50-year member of both the Order of Eastern Star and Jewel Masonic Lodge #309 in Storm Lake, the American Legion and Abu Bekr Shrine of Sioux City. He was past president of the Storm Lake Rotary Club, a longtime member of the Storm Lake United Methodist Church and served on numerous committees and boards in the community over the years. He loved to fish and hunt when he was younger and was always glad to lend a helping hand to his many friends whenever he could. Ed will be remembered as a trusted insurance professional who was always held in high regard by his policy holders. His lifelong concern for the well-being of others, his family, friends and policy holders was always first and foremost in his mind. He is survived by his son, Thomas and his wife Sharan of San Antonio, Texas and two granddaughters, Stephanie Shaw of San Mateo, California and Adrienne Shaw of Berkeley, California.
