Edward Wilhelm August Heise was born June 13, 1890 in Rock Creek, Iowa, the son of Wilhelm and Friederika Heise. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and received his education in Iowa. In 1903 he came with his family to the LItchville community. He served in the U. S. Army during World War I. Edward Wilhelm August Heise was born June 13, 1890 in Rock Creek, Iowa, the son of Wilhelm and Friederika Heise. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and received his education in Iowa. In 1903 he came with his family to the LItchville community. He served in the U. S. Army during World War I. On October 21, 1928 he married Laura Kreamer in Ashly. They farmed near LItchville until retiring and moving to Hastings. In 1970 they moved to Valley City and in 1973 to Fargo. Mr. Heise was a member of the Griswold Trinity Lutheran Church from 1903 until 1970 when he joined Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Valley City. He was active in his community, serving on the School and Township Boards. He had served on the elevator board for seventeen years and had been active in getting rural electrification in his community. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Valley City. He had been a charter member of the Fort Ransom and Litchville V.F.W. Posts. Honorary pallbearers were Oscar Mennis, Harold and Arvid Arves, Gene Nelson, Arnold and William Velure, Joe Scully and William Wegner. Pallbearers were Arnold Wegner, Richard Arves, Carlton Mennis, Carrold Kraemer, Roger Haupt and Harry Hoff. Military rites were by the 141st Engineers Battalion, North Dakota National Guard. He is survived by his wife five sons, Lloyd of rural Kathyn, Eugene of Valley City, Harvey of Mapleton, Curtis of Muscoda, Wisconsin and Willis address unknown; a daughter Mrs. Roy (Loretta) Olafson of Fargo, sixteen grandchildren, and one great-grandchild also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters and a grandchild. The funeral was Wednesday from Our Savior’s Lutheran Church with Rev. James Hanson officiating.
