Description	:	Edwin A. "Ed" Nash , 69, of Petroleum, Indiana passed away Feb. 16, 2003 at Bluffton Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born Nov. 28, 1933 to Ervin and Helen (Hager) Nash in Clare County. Edwin graduated from Harrison High School, and lived in Michigan until moving to Wells County in 1965.He worked for Corning Glass Company for 19 years.He also worked as a mechanic/repairman for Chrysler Transmission Division in Kokomo, Indiana for 15 years, retiring in 1999.He served as vice-president of the Local Labor Union while he was at Corning Glass. He was very active in... Read More	Edwin A. "Ed" Nash , 69, of Petroleum, Indiana passed away Feb. 16, 2003 at Bluffton Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born Nov. 28, 1933 to Ervin and Helen (Hager) Nash in Clare County. Edwin graduated from Harrison High School, and lived in Michigan until moving to Wells County in 1965.He worked for Corning Glass Company for 19 years.He also worked as a mechanic/repairman for Chrysler Transmission Division in Kokomo, Indiana for 15 years, retiring in 1999.He served as vice-president of the Local Labor Union while he was at Corning Glass. He was very active in his church, Sonlight Wesleyan Church - Bluffton, Indiana, serving in many capacities including the board of trustees and the administrative board.He served on the original building committee for the church and also physically assisted in the building of the church.He also served on the building committee for the church's latest building expansion. He coached in the Wells County Junior Baseball League for over 15 years. Ed lived in Wells since 1965.He married the former Jessie K. Cassiday on June 29, 1952 in Skeels, Michigan. He is survived by his wife, Jessie; children Laura (Tom) Neuenschwander of Ossian, Indiana, LuAnn (Rick) Rehm of Decatur, Indiana, James Nash of Ossian, Indiana, and Jeffery Nash of Glendale, Arizona; siblings Eldon Nash of Gladwin, Marvin Nash of Gladwin, Beverly (Don) Schuch of Petoskey, and Gloria (Charles) George of Peoria, Arizona; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Wesley Nash, and one brother, DeWayne Nash. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Thoma/Rich, Hewitt and Chaney Funeral Home in Bluffton, Indiana and one hour prior to the service to be held Friday at 10 a.m. at his church.Ed will be cremated following services, and his cremains will interred at a later date with a private family graveside service at Stahl Cemetery in Wells County with Rev. Tom Bradley officiating.
