A 25-year resident of Inchelium, Washington, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2007, at his Inchelium home. Ed was born in Inchelium on January 21, 1937, the son of Kenneth Francis and Myrtle Evelyn (Beardslee) Camp. Ed was raised in Inchelium where he attended school and was member of the class of 1955. He married Ivy Jean Gent on May 21, 1956, in Colville, Washington. Together they returned to Inchelium where they resided until 1961. They then stayed for two years in Daisy, Washington, before moving to Roseburg, Oregon. Ed retired in 1999, from a life-time of ranching. He had owned and operated his own ranch and worked as a ranch manager. Ed enjoyed every day he spent in the outdoors working with livestock. He returned to Inchelium with his wife, Jean, in 1999, to help take care of his mother. Even during his retirement, Ed enjoyed working on the McIrvin family ranches. He found no greater satisfaction than that of a full day?s work. Ed enjoyed team roping and fishing during his past time. He was a "wonderful" man, husband, father and grandfather. Ed had an easy-going character that made everyone comfortable. Even on his worst day, he inspired other to laugh and enjoy each moment. Ed was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Camp; brothers, Ron and George Camp; father-in-law, Lawrence Gent and his parents. Ed is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jean Camp at the home; daughter, Wonda Klooster and her husband, David of Keno, Oregon; son, Kenny Camp and his wife, Karen of Riddle, Oregon; three grandchildren, Amy Hill; Randy Camp and his wife, Stephanie; Keith Klooster and his wife, Kim; two great-grandchildren, Emma and "Rosco" (on-the-way); brothers- in-law, Bill and Jack Gent; mother-in-law, Doris Gent; sisters-in-law, Judy and Carrol Camp; numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside urn committal at the Hall Creek Cemetery in Inchelium, Washington, at 11 a.m., on Saturday, February 3, 2007. Jerry Sullivan will officiate. Memorial contributions can be given to the Hospice of Spokane, P.O. Box 808, Chewelah, Washington, 99109. Danekas Funeral Chapel and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
