Edwin was born on August 22, 1925, the son of Johann and Louisa (Meisel) on his parent’s farm north of Dodge, North Dakota. He was one of eight children. Edwin was born on August 22, 1925, the son of Johann and Louisa (Meisel) on his parent’s farm north of Dodge, North Dakota. He was one of eight children. Ed attended public school in Golden Valley and was confirmed at Golgotha Lutheran Congregation in Golden Valley. He was united in marriage to Verona Wittmayer on June 14, 1952. As a teenager, from 1940-1952, Ed worked as a farmhand for many local farmers and seven years at the Frank Asterwind Ranch in Richardton. Ed was drafted into the U.S. Army and attended basic training in Fort Bliss, Texas, and was honorably discharged in October 29, 1952. Edwin and Verona farmed in the Denhoff area from 1957 to 1987. They retired and moved Mandan, ND, and then to Bismarck. Verona died in 1988. Ed worked at Sunset Memorial Gardens for about two years. Edwin and Dalphina (Heier) Jangula were married on August 22, 1991, in Bismarck, ND, and lived in Bismarck. Ed and Dalphina celebrated 25 years of marriage in August 2016. Ed was a wonderful husband and father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his step-children, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. He enjoyed dancing with Dalphina while he was able, never missed a pinochle game, and telling many stories of his lifetime adventures. Edwin is survived by his wife Dalphina and ten step-children and their families, Rita (Rick) Ciavarella, Francis (LaVonne) Jangula, Celestina (Gary) Finck, Elizabeth (Douglas) Jahner, Tony (LeeAnn) Jangula, Ken (Charlan) Jangula, Lucy (Dwight) Driscoll, and Joseph (Marie) Jangula, all of Bismarck, Gerald Jangula (Paulette), Rapid City, SD, and Mary (Dwight) Schlepp, Ashley, ND; 29 step-grandchildren and 37 step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Bertha Hale of Seattle, WA; sister-in-law, Hilda Mittelstedt, pecial friend, Ron Geiss; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Johann and Louisa; wife Verona; four sisters, Ella Graham, Pauline Helm, Lenora Wolff, and Bernice Gabel; three brothers, Ted, Toby; and William, who died in Italy while in the U.S. Military and is interred there.
