Description	:	Edwin Nelson, who has a productive farm of 80 acres near Ellensburg, is a native of Washington, having been born in King Co. on February 26, 1879. His parents are Halvor and Julianna Nelson, natives of Norway. His parents came to America and first lived in Nebraska for a time, but eventually made their way to the state of Washington, first settling on the Sound. Read More	Edwin Nelson, who has a productive farm of 80 acres near Ellensburg, is a native of Washington, having been born in King Co. on February 26, 1879. His parents are Halvor and Julianna Nelson, natives of Norway. His parents came to America and first lived in Nebraska for a time, but eventually made their way to the state of Washington, first settling on the Sound. Early in the 1870's they moved to the Kittias Valley and in 1880 Halvor Nelson homesteaded 80 acres. As success came to him he acquired another 80 acres. Halvor is one of the leading farmers of his neighborhood and enjoys the high respect of all who know him. Edwin was reared under the parental roof, receiving the loving care of devoted parents and attending the public schools. Early in life he familiarized himself with resultant methods of farming under the able guidance of his father. Upon starting out upon an independent career, he rented his father's land for a few years with good results and built a fine home and commodious barn and out buildings. He raises hay and grain. In 1903 Mrs. Nelson was united in marriage to Miss Tilda Strande, a daughter of Even Strande. To this union were born 4 daughters, Thelma, Doris, Freda, and Janet. Edwin died in Yakima on Janurary 27, 1971.
