LaBorde, 74, a long time resident of this area, who died Dec. 30 at the Plainview General Hospital. Rev. Ray Haun officiated at the First Congregational Church. Pallbearers were Warren Hoffart, Vernon Wachholtz, Clarence Liibbe, Harold Young, Carl Nissen and Walt Mueller. Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery. Edwin LaBorde was born Feb. 14, 1892, at Gretna, to Mr. and Mrs. William LaBorde. Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery. Edwin LaBorde was born Feb. 14, 1892, at Gretna, to Mr. and Mrs. William LaBorde. When 14 he moved with his parents from Gretna to a farm in Antelope County, remaining in that county until 1938 when he moved to Plainview and began to work at the Plainview Farm Equipment, where he worked up to the time of his death. On Jan. 7, 1914, he married Maida Mae Henry. They had two daughters, Maradelle, Mrs. Gilbert Dickinson of Plainview, and E. Jeanne, Mrs. Omar Young of Norfolk. Joining the family a few years later was a nephew, Virgil Henry, whom they reared as their own. Surviving him are his widow; two daughters Maradelle and Jeanne; a nephew, better known as Jimmie; three grandsons and one granddaughter; one sister, Mrs. George Hopkins, Neligh. Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers, LaVern, Frank, and Charles, and one sister, Lottie.
