Gorden, 98, of 1222 Greencroft Drive, died at 2:43 PM Thursday (Nov. 11, 2004) at Goshen General Hospital after a short illness. She was born on April 21st, 1906, in Milford to William and Rosa(Duker)Nickler and married Israel Gorden on March 3rd, 1928 in Elkhart. He died August 2nd, 2001. She is survived by one daughter and 3 sons; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren and one sister. She was preceded in death by one son and 6 brothers. Friends may call from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM today at Yoder-Culp Funeral home, 1911 S Main street. A memorial service will be at 4:00PM, Sunday at Middlebury Church of the Brethren, 507 W. Bristol Avenue, Middlebury. Revs. Dan Petry and Russell Jensen of the church will officiate. A private graveside service will be at Grace Lawn Cemetery before the memorial service. A homemaker, Mrs Gorden lived in the area since 1949. She was a member of the Middlebury Church of the Brethren and enjoyed knitting, reading and being with her family. Memorials may be given to the Heifer Project or the church's building fund.
