Description	:	Edythe (Mrs William G.) Harbit, 77, formerly of Gilman and Marshalltown, died Thursday, April 12 at St. Petersburg, Fla., after a long illness. Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown with the Rev. Charles R. Mehaffey of Cedar Rapids officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Born June 24, 1912, in LeGrand, she was the daughter of the Rev. Guy W. and Mary Armstrong Harvey. She graduated from West Branch High School in 1930. On Aug. 9, 1931, she married Dr. William G. Harbit They resided in Gilman from 1946 to 1981 and then in Marshalltown until 1988, when they moved to Florida. Mrs Harbit was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Women's Auxiliary of the Iowa Chiropractic Association. Preceding her in death were two brothers, a granddaughter and a son-in-law. Surviving are her husband, Dr. William G. Harbit of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three children: Billie (Mrs. Edward) Sowards of St. Petersburg; Dr. Gary G. Harbit, Greenville, S.C.; and Douglas A. Harbit, Washington, D.C.; and six grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers and two sisters: Gladys Bowman, Des Moines; Charles Harvey, Eldora; Virginia Ball and Dr. Ralph Harvey, both of San Diego, Calif.; Warren Harvey, Marshalltown; and Dr. Robert Harvey, Monroe, La.; and several nieces and nephews. from Marshalltown IA newspaper Times Republican dated April 15 1990
