Lowe [FAG #79807271] Ellen Eliza (Parsons) Lowe [FAG #79806921] ************************** “THE FAYETTE COUNTY UNION” West Union, Iowa Thursday, June 30th, 1938 [Page 8] RITES HELD FOR ARLINGTON WOMAN ON LAST SUNDAY ARLINGTON--- Funeral service for Mrs. John Voshell, who died in Des Moines last Thursday, was held from the Christian church Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Rev. Hignett officiating. Supt. And Mrs. Burton D. North, assisted at the piano by Miss Ella Campbell, furnished the music. George and Will Gordon, W. F. Nace, O. C. Rawson, Herman Schoeppe and Frank Seedorff acted as pallbearers and interment took place in Taylorsville cemetery. BORN IN 1867: Effie Parsons Voshell was born in Littleport, Clayton county, June 14, 1867, and was the oldest daughter of Morgan and Mary Parsons. Her mother died when she was 18 months of age and she was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. John Lowe, Volga City, with whom she made her home until her marriage to John D. Voshell, March 2, 1883. To this union eight children were born, one daughter dying in infancy and another Mrs. Vern Boleyn, dying in 1918. Those left to mourn her death are her husband, J. D. Voshell and her children, Jesse, DesMoines; Mrs. Ella Moore, Mrs. Frank Spore and Ellis Voshell, Waterloo; Mrs. Harvey Miller, Arlington; Bernice, Casper, Wyo.; and Mrs. Albert Bailey, Fayette; and one sister, Mrs. Ida Elliott, Edgewood; besides 25 grandchildren. DIED AT DES MOINES: Mrs. Voshell died at the home of her son, Jesse, in Des Moines, last Thursday morning. Following are relatives and friends from out of town who attended the funeral of Mrs. Voshell Sunday: Mr. and Mrs. Bernice Voshell, Casper, Wyo.; Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Voshell, and daughters, Edith and Leona, Des Moines; Mrs. Frank Spores and Mrs. Ella Moore and children, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Moore, Arthur and Everett Moore, Mrs. Walter Marr, Mr. and Mrs. W. Hickman, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Voshell and Ira Spores, Waterloo; Mrs. William Green, Milwaukee, Wis. Enos Voshell and son, Merlie, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Adams, Morgan Parsons, Leslie Voshell, Volga City; Mrs. Emma Gaylor and son, Michael, Mederville; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Litts, Strawberry Point; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bailey and children, Fayette; Mr. and Mrs. Vern Boleyn and son, Waterloo; Mrs. Ida Elliott, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Hanksens and Merle Voshell, Edgewood. *****************************
